New York: Published for the author, 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Good. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. An uncommonly handsomely produced little tome in short octavo hardcover format, and SIGNED by the author at first endpaper. Brick-red cloth covers, white lettering to cover and spine, tri-color illustration to front cover depicting the Oregon Trail and perhaps Mt. Hood. Illustrated paper dust jacket, protected in Brodart, fully intact, not price-clipped, but with chipping at spine head, minor nicks to spine foot. "The names of the actors in this romance are fictitious; but the characters are as the writer knew them", as the author/publisher writes. Ezra Meeker wrote this work at the age of 95. Plentiful drawings and even photographs of the Oregon Trail, including of river-crossings by floating one's "wagon-box," and a nice-looking map. He became Mayor of Puyallup, Washington. Meeker was an American pioneer who traveled the Oregon Trail by ox-drawn wagon from the east to the Oregon Territory. In 1890 he became the first mayor of Puyallup, Washington. Measures 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" in height and width, respectively. 287 pp. 287 pp. including bibliography of other Meeker-penned titles.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
