Milwaukee, 1907.. 511pp., including illustrations. Contemporary half black sheep and pebbled cloth, spine gilt. Spine ends lightly worn, front hinge cracked, but holding. Internally clean. Very good. Daily selections from the Epistles and Gospels, with accompanying sermon or instruction, all in Chippewa and illustrated by numerous attractive wood engravings. Father Chrysostom Verwyst (1841-1925), a priest who became a Chippewa linguist, wrote the preface.
