Boston: Ticknor, Reed, and Fields, 1849. First edition, mixed state, 1849, with the uncorrected error on page 172 and "end" on final page. Fair to good in brown cloth with gilt spine lettering and blindstamped decoration to covers, four-page publisher's catalog dated May 1, 1849 bound in before the front free endpaper, 188 pages. Covers have some light colored spotting as well as expected edgewear, light wearthrough at the spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, occasional foxing and age-toning throughout, minor old dampstaining to far outer edges of preliminary blank and halt-fitle, no names or other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
