Spine frays to top and bottom, some fading to spine, corners bumped and rubbed. textblock square and tight. Some foxing to prelimary pages and edges of pages. Text is unmarked. Binding tight. The author recounts his travels around the globe during his naval service, his acivities in the Mexican-American War and Civil War. Of note is his being in California and San Francisco at the time of the gold rush and his comments on San Francisco at that time.
