Augusta, Lady Gregory (1852-1932) is famed as one of the founders of the Irish National Theatre; she was a playwright herself and a collector, like so many of her peers, of Irish folk-tales. In the Introduction she relates how she was intrigued to learn Irish and translate what she heard from the peasantry. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition. Blue cloth binding with a paper label on the spine. Clean text; 112 pages, with a four-page publisher's catalog in the rear. Gift inscription (1920) on the front paste-down. Light wear to the margins, with some darkening to the spine; the paper labelhas a chip but it does not affect the text.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
