Some 60 years later this humble parish priest achieved a world-wide posthumous fame through the publication of his diary. The three volumes of Kilvert?s Diary, edited by William Plomer and published by Jonathan Cape, appeared in 1938-40 to give an unique picture of life in Victorian Times. They have been reprinted on numerous occasions and an eighteen-episode series of extracts have been filmed by BBC Television. These were subsequently shown on Irish TV. This booklet covers the background and history of the author from the Parish Registers, Church Account Books and school log-books with additions from the Parish Meeting minute books and Pitman?s collection of notes on Bredwardine and also from the Hereford Times.* This is a VG copy of the 2nd./3rd. edition of this pamphlet.*
