About This Item

ix+59 pages with maps, tables, figures and cited references. Quarto (11" x 8 1/2") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. Missouri Archaeological Society Research Series number 12. First edition. During the 1969 field season a small, multi-component campsite was found in the proposed Meramec Park Reservoir Kimberlin Period of the local Woodland tradition (about AD 950-1050). The Kimberlin Site was especially important in that while its size, placement and surface debris are similar to other sites of the same time period, it is unique in the excellent preservation of floral and faunal ecofacts and in the amount of data found in situ. Since the site presented an opportunity to gain important insights into the nature or least one o the human populations occupying the reservoir area, excavation was continued in 1970. Condition: Corners bumped and rubbed else very good copy.
