Melbourne: Lansdowne Editions, 1983. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Melbourne, Lansdowne Editions, 1983 to 1985. Imperial folio, two volumes, 284 pages with numerous illustrations, distribution maps and 26 full-page colour plates by William Cooper; and pages 285-564 with numerous illustrations, distribution maps and 26 full-page colour plates by William Cooper. Half blue morocco and blue cloth ruled in blind and gilt, with a contrasting leather title-label on the spines; a few small light stains to the cloth on both volumes; endpapers slightly discoloured by the leather turn-ins; minimal signs of age and use; an excellent set in the original Solander box bound in blue cloth with large leather labels on the spine and front cover (the cloth is slightly stained). Both volumes are numbered 104 of 1000 copies signed by the author and the artist. This important series eventually ran to six volumes published between 1983 and 1994. [2 items].
