New York: Mysterious Press, 1992 Ruth Rendell (1930-2015) was an English author known for her Inspector Wexford mysteries and later, as Barbara Vine, the sixteen popular psychological novels.Over her long career, she wrote over 100 books. The sale item is a Wexford mystery, the stated first edition from June 1992 with full number line. Binding tight and square but the page block has pulled slightly away from the outer spine at the upper part of the spine. Some darkenintg at outer edge of page block. Otherwise clean and bright. Possible autograph of the author on title page. The book has definitely been read. Unclipped dust jacket is bright and clean, but has bumping at top and bottom of spine. 378 pages. Signed by Author on title page.

Synopsis

Ruth Rendell has been writing mysteries under her own name and as Barbara Vine for 25 years.  She is the author of more than 30 books, including her series of Inspector Wexford novels, several of which have been dramatized for TV.  She has received numerous awards, including three Edgar Allan Poe Awards from the Mystery Writers of America.   The Bridesmaid , published by Doubleday Canada in 1989 and Seal Books in 1990, was the first of her novels to be published separately in Canada. --
