Being his L'Idea della Architettura Universale translated into German. Scamozzi was one of the most prominent and influential Venetian architects, succeeding Palladio, and teaching Longhena, two other major Venetian architects. The Idea was the only book on architecture he completed during his lifetime. With one partial page, 76 full page, and four double page plates, the double page plates slightly trimmed along the fore edge. Paper repair to the edges of some plates. [4], 192 pp. Two unsigned leaves, A-Bbb2. Lacking additional title page, engraved. Namestamp on the modern front endpaper, and the verso of the final plate. Half paper vellum with faded gilt lettering, over marbled paper boards. ( ). Very Good binding.
