Tokyo: Kokusuisha, 1917. Folio, 14.5x10.5" approximately 60 plates printed verso only with facing tissue printed with Japanese text and English caption titles. Two plates are in color with the rest black and white. Patterned silk over boards, printed label, a.e.g., original string ties present. Contents clean and nearly fine. Cloth worn away on spine and edges of boards which also show some toning.
Fine collection, in folio format, of Ukiyo-e by many masters of the form. The artists included represent those active from the 16th to the early 19th centuries: Kitao Masayoshi (1781-1824), Kondo Kiyoharu (1711-1747), Nishikawa Suketada (1706-1758), Okumura Masanobu (1686-1764), Matsuno Chikanobu (c. 1705), and many more.
