George Allen & Unwin, 1950. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1950. Second impression. 235 pages. No dust jacket. Brick red boards with gilt. Black and white frontispiece. Contains black and white photographic plates. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Plates are bright and clear. Price sticker to front paste-down. Cracked at the hinges, front board gutter has exposed netting, resulting in the board feeling loose. Thumb-marking present. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Minor fraying to cloth at spine ends. Boards are bowed. Gilt lettering is darkened.
