Sir John Richardson. London: 1851.All 8 color plates from text are included and each measuring 5 x 8.5 inches. 6 of the plates show members of the Kutcha-Kutchin tribe in various elements of their daily life including a warrior and his wife, a mother with child strapped to her back, and members in ceremonial dance. Richardson, a famed naturalist of his time, detailed his observations of the Kutcha-Kutchin as well as plant and animal life over the course of two arctic expeditions. 2 of the plates show fossilized leaves in detail. Collection includes table of contents page listing plates. Overall very good condition.
