Paris, chez Fetil Libraire rue des Cordeliers pres celle de Conde au Parnasse Italien, 1772.. 1772, SECOND EDITION, first published as the second part of the author's 'Toilette de Flore.' in 1771. Small 8vo in 4s and 8s, approximately 170 x 100 mm, 6½ x 4 inches, French text, pages: viii, 9-384, Contents table on 373-384, bound in pitted sheep, gilt lettering, decoration and rules to spine, endpapers and edges marbled, printer's small headpiece to each part. Binding rubbed with some loss to original leather, shelf wear to edges and corners, tiny repair to top corner, small crack to hinge of upper cover, ink number on verso front endpaper, tiny hole on a6 with loss of 3 letters, minute chip to margin of O3 and Ff1, otherwise a very good clean copy. The author was a French physician, lawyer and naturalist. He wrote many works on botany including tea, chocolate and tobacco and also on animals.
