Harper & Brothers,, 1902. 8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with a frontispiece and 11 plates, free endpapers very lightly browned, small signature on front free endpaper; original terracotta cloth elaborately blocked and lettered in black, gilt back, uncut, joints very lightly rubbed, covers with only the faintest age-soiling else a remarkably bright, clean copy. This classic collection of twelve short stories includes the first appearance of 'The Monkey's Paw', widely acclaimed as one of the finest short horror stories ever written. Very scarce, especially in this condition. Bleiler 896; NCBEL IV, p.621.
