The Proprietors. Good with No dust jacket as issued. 1812. First Edition. Hardcover. 2 clean hardbacks tightly bound in half leather with marbled boards with gilt titles on a red background, boards and leather are lightly rubbed at edges, no inscriptions. Colour illustrations on plates of fashion designs 1 or 2 per month. Black & white plates of the woman featiured in the first article as frontispiece to each month, index. Vol XII: damp marks on endpapers and first 4 and last 8 pages, iv + 356 pages, pages 295 - 300 excised (poems of May issue) & a rear endpaper has been partially torn out. Colour plates: May head and hat cut from one model and June plates excised. Black & white plates all present. Vol XIII: damp marks on endpapers, iv + 352 + iv pages. Colour plates: August head and hat cut from one model, Nov & Dec 1 plate excised from each. Black & white plates: July (Signora Berinotti Radicati) & Sept (Miss Bellchambers) excised. Contain biographies, poetry, anecdotes, theatre reviews and the Mirror of fashion, some designs credited to Mrs Osgood .
