About This Item

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1938. First U.S. Edition. Very Good/Good+. The third Sir John Appleby novel. First U.S. edition in original jacket with $2.00 price inside front flap. Jacket in clear protective sheet with general wear to the edges, some creasing, small chipping, and rubbing (small tear to center of back). Black cloth over boards with red lettering on front and spine. Some scuffing and bump to top front corner and slight shelfwear. Long edge deckled, top edge stained red by printer but somewhat faded. Red badge detective end papers at front and back. The interior is evenly toned, otherwise it is clean and clear.
