About This Item
New York: Appleton and Company, 1904. Preface dated September 1903 by the author,"Written primarily for the young, they are not beneath the notice of the more mature, and the writer believes they have sufficient interest to hold the attention of both." The rear hinge of this fine old volume is starting to give and there is a couple of minor tears one on the frontispiece about 1" deep and about an 1" in from the hinge.Otherwise the page edges are a little sunned-spotting and the decorative boards show some signs of general wear. The mustard- brown boards show a foot soldier with trusty musket and the red bars of the flag in the vertical. A nice old book all the same.. 1 St Edition. Linen Hard Cover. Fair/No. Illus. by Illustrated in Colour and B/W. 5.25"-7.5".
