About This Item

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1950. Gift inscription to front endpaper; top edge lightly dusted; close to fine in an unclipped dust jacket with slight fading to spine, a closed tear and a surface scratch to the rear panel, a few small chips and some fraying at spine ends. Small 4to, 132 (4)pp; yellow cloth stamped in orange. This edition contains 48 photos by Adams, along with notes on the photos and an afterword by Adams, in part paying tribute to Austin (1868-1934) who had previously written text for Adams's first book, Taos Pueblo (1930). The Land of Little Rain was originally published in 1903 and is a classic of Californiana, a Zamorano 80 title.
