About This Item

(FLYNT, LARRY) (DE NIRO, ROBERT). Flynt, Larry. LARRY FLYNT: A 1983 TYPED LETTER SIGNED SOLICITING ROBERT DE NIRO TO DIRECT AN EROTIC PHOTO SHOOT FOR HUSTLER MAGAZINE. Signed by Larry Flynt. Los Angeles: Hustler, 1983. First Edition. 4to. Typed Letter Signed (TLS). Fine. One 10 ¼ x 7 ¼" sheet of gilt-debossed letterhead typewritten recto only, folded horizontally in thirds for mailing, no illustrations. This is a single page, six paragraph letter on HUSTLER letterhead from the noted late American publisher and freedom of the press advocate Larry Flynt to Robert De Niro attempting to secure the legendary actor's services "to direct a photo shooting for... a continuing series HUSTLER is launching which depicts sexual fantasies by top celebrities." Dated August 12, 1983, it offers "In return for your participation, HUSTLER will pay you $10,000.00 plus expenses." The letter was sent to Mr. Robert DeNiro (sic) in care of his longtime agent Harry J. Ufland, but whether or not there was a response on his behalf, no such pictorial ever appeared. A brand new, most handsome example of this unique document SIGNED "Larry Flynt" in black ink. Inventory Number: 026923
