Later half morocco and marbled paper over boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt, t.e.g.; 4to (282x197mm); pp. [2] (title-p., blank), viii, 888, plus frontispiece, 11 chromolithograph plates, and 520 illustrations in text; complete. Spine tips lightly scuffed; top corners lightly chipped. Library stamps on front flyleaf (Astor, New York Public) and on the verso of the plates; the occasional blindstamp in text; overall, internally bright and clean. An excellent copy.
