About This Item
Houghton Mifflin The Riverside Press USA, 1894 Oliver Wendell Holmes poem, beautifully illustrated by George Wharton Edwards & F. Hopkinson Smith. Quarter cloth over cloth covered boards. Good copy, with a dust dulled spine and scruffy boards. Gilt titling on spine and front board with decorative design. Well defined edges, not bumped. No damage to spine. Firm binding remains strong, pages are printed on a superb art paper. The text block is clean and crisp and may well be a first printing. The illustrations are so fresh and clean it makes me believe this is a first. There is a neat copper plate written previous owners inscription on the otherwise blank end paper. This is a thoroughly elegant Victorian collectable, with great period charm. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng. Hardcover. Very Good.
