Bound in publisher's royal blue cloth with gilt spine lettering, top edge gilt, map endpapers. With 126 illustrations and 17 plans. Vol. I: xiv, 266; [iv], 267-518 pp. Volume II: xv, [i], 212; [iv], 213-443 pp. A Very Good+ set overall. Both Parts of Vol. I have worn tips, a little spotting to cloth, toned contents; rear endpaper of Vol. I slightly lifting at gutter. Both Parts of Vol. II have former owner's stamp to title pages, publisher's ads laid in. A nice set of a history of the end of the Age of Sail with many fold-out illustrations.
