Ex-Library copy. Published by Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 1929. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Novel (Fiction) in 1930. Small 8vo, 302 pp. With the original second state dust jacket. On the second state dust jacket the front flap begins with "Riding over the desert, out of the wild north country where white men are little known, comes Laughing Boy, a warrior of the Navajos." The dust jacket is in good condition. Moderate chipping to the panels, spine and extremities. The original price of $2.50 is present on the front flap.The book is in fair to good condition. The spine is heavily faded and the boards are grubby. Previous owner's bookplate on the front paste-down. Smith College written on the front endpaper. Huntington Library embossed seal on the title and dedication pages. Slight musty smell emitted from the book. The textblock is clean and bright.
