About This Item
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Co, 1943. Cloth. Very Good +/Very Good. The 1943 original Book Club edition, stated so on the bottom of the dustjacket's front flap and somewhat uncommon even as such. Solid and VG+ to Near Fine (light offsetting at the inner hinges) in a bright, VG dustjacket, with fading and several small closed tears along the spine, and a bit of soiling and staining at the rear panel. A bit of light chipping as well to the spine ends but, still, very presentable. Octavo, "A compelling novel of an impersonation undertaken in malice and completed in panic". The novel that inspired the renowned 1944 film noir produced and directed by Otto Preminger.
