Early calf, rebacked, embossed medallions to top and bottom boards. · Register: 8º: A-M^8 N^4. · Condition: Very clean and well-margined. · Comments: Dyer's Reports, the second to be published under their author's name, first issued in January 1586. This abridgment followed a few years later and was reprinted three times, the copy here being from the third edition. The chronological order of the cases is preserved and the page of the original given in the margin. The first two editions are very rare and were probably printed in violation of Richard Tottell's monopoly patent. In its original boards which have a design in blue, red, black, light brown and white in a kind of “c” shape with the opening of the “c” downwards. The spine, quarter boards and triangular covers of all corners are brown leather. The spine has 4 raised sections done in a rope design, two of them framing a red area where the title is done in gilt. The front cover has the paper worn away on top and bottom board edges, exposing the board but with almost no erosion of the boards. The front cover design area has several areas where it is worn away but only the surface design is gone, the board is whole and strong underneath, there are no holes and no gouges or rips. Edizione del 1548 di questa nota opera letteraria scritta da Adriano Castellesi (ca 1485-1521) nato a Corneto (antico nome di Tarquinia) detto anche Adriano da Corneto. Castellesi fu grechista, ebraista, autore di poemetti, opere di stile, grammatiche e filosofico-teologiche. Espertissimo di affari, si arricchì enormemente destando in tal modo l'invidia di Cesare Borgia che tentò di avvelenarlo. Andato in esilio e ritornato in patria all'avvento di Leone X, dovette ritornarvi perchè accusato di aver preso parte alla congiura del Cardinale Petrucci. Da questo momento in poi non si sa più nulla di lui: sembra che sia stato assassinato a scopo di furto da uno dei suoi servitori. Il volume è un'opera didattica latina che riporta termini utilizzati in sentenze classiche latine.
