London: Eyre & Spottiswoode Book. Illus. by Jessop, Ernest M.. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. [1884]. 14 7/8" x 10 3/4", [ii], 33 pages. Each page printed on one side only, text in red and black script, illustrations largely sepia, but the jackdaw and owl in naturalistic colour. Bound in illustrated bevelled boards, cloth spine, failing at ends, and with a 7/8" x 1/2" hole near the centre of the spine. Originally gutta percha, but now as usual failed, with all sheets detached. Slight damp stains to upper cover and lower spine, boards rubbed and grubby. Neat inscription for 1884 on front free endpaper. .
