About This Item
Hardcover with illustrated boards, published by Frederick Warne And Co. Publication date not listed, there is a former owner's name on the ffep, dated 1891. It's possible that this was published earlier than 1891, though considering the typography, it is most likely no earlier than the 1880s. A collection of 18 short stories for children, in addition to those included in the title there are; Old Poz, The Orphans, The Basket-Woman, Forgive And Forget, The Brecelets, The Little Meerchant, and nine more. Red boards, with a charming three color illustration of an English town on the front board. 5" X 7-1/2", 304 pages. Corners are worn and exposed, boards show some staining and rubbing wear, though all lettering is still legible. Crack in the gutter at the ffep, vertical crack about 5" long, so that the binding at the front board is loose though still intact. Age appropriate tanning to the paste-down pages and edges of the text, though the text block is relatively clean considering its age. Binding at the back paste-down is still intact. Wonderful illustration on the spine as well. Former owner's name in fountain pen ink on the ffep, and the same name in an inkstamp on the inside of the cover boards as well, no further writing besides that though. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.

Let us know, we'd love to hear from you! Do you want to see a photo of a book before you order it ? We try to post as many photos as possbiel, but sometimes there will be a item in inventory that does not show a photo here. So feel free to ask for photos, we don't mind at all. We package all of our orders carefully either in a box that has been designed to ship books, or in a padded envelope. We want to make sure you receive your order in the best possible condition! Our preferred shipping method is USPS Media Mail. Recently, the USPS has added tracking to Media Mail , which has been a great addition to this service. If you do choose to have your order shipped "Expedited", my shipping cost may seem higher than expected. Some of our books are large format hardcovers that can cost quite a bit when shipped expedited. So I would like to make sure that I can cover the cost upfront. However, if the actual cost of expedited shipping is less than the charge, I will refund the difference!
