About This Item
LEAR, Edward. Lear's Nonsense Verses. Pictures by Tomi Ungerer. NY: Grosset & Dunlap [1967]. 4to, [40]pp. Green quarter-boards stamped in black with color pictorial boards. Green endpapers; alternating color and b&w illustrations on every spread. A fine copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (some wear to ends of spine panel – apparently "retouched" with a black marker, head of spine and ¾" tear at rear edge of center spine mended with acid-free mending tape). With a bookplate signed by the artist, Tomi Ungerer, laid in.
First edition. Edward Lear's delightfully merry absurdist songs, stories and poetry come to life with all their humor and poignancy thanks to Tomi Ungerer's colorful, inspired illustrations. Truly a perfect combination!
