About This Item

New York: The Modern Library Book. Poor. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover, light gray cloth in price-clipped dust-jacket. 423 pages. ML no. G50. Binding style G5 (1945-1963). No publishing date present, dated from list on verso of dust-jacket to 1940 for jacket, so jacket is earlier issue. Dust-jacket style Gd. Illustrated with woodcuts by Valenti Angelo. Both book and jacket worn. Book shows considerable mottling to cloth on upper front cover and spine, and old spotting to top edge of bulked sheets. Dust-jacket faded and edge-worn along top edge. Interior text clean and unmarked and though jacket is undoubtedly worn, it is intact and scarce. Still a good sound working copy. Poor in a fair dust-jacket. .
