New York: Franklin Watts, 1960. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 13" by 9.5". None. A first edition of this beautiful storybook, inscribed by the author to her doctor. An ink inscription to front free endpaper reads, 'For the Leg of a Chicken, dedicated to Dr. I. R. Marre by the thumb of the artist - restored through his skill! Bettina, London, June 1961.' With full-colour and monochrome illustrations throughout. In a cloth covered binding with original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally smart with very slight shelfwear. Dustwrapper has slight curling, chipping and small closed tears but remains bright. Internally, firmly bound, bright with the odd mark. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
