Bright gilt on top page ends, beautiful illustration of the legionaries on front cover. . A handsome copy of the second edition, stated, published in 1899, the same year as the first, by the same publisher. The Great Raid alluded to in the title is Morgan's Raid, an incursion by Confederate cavalry into the Union states of Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia during the American Civil War. This book is a piece of historical fiction based on real events. . 8vo 8" - 9" tall. 385 pages. L4 .
