Robert Braune is best known for Alain White's editorship of Robert Braune: Apotre de la Symetrie originally published in 1914 and reprinted in a limited edition of 250 copies in 1988. In the following years, he gained world-wide recognition as he became a specialist in compositions. In 1913, the French Strategie published a collection of his compositions. Alain C. White, the American chess patron, published a collection of Braune's compositions in early 1914.
