About This Item
[Colorado Springs]: The Press at Colorado College, 1997. Edition limited to 35 numbered copies signed by Trissel (this, no. 11); oblong 4to, pp. [38]; title page printed in red and black; lots of color, typefaces, graphic design; fine in original red cloth stamped in gilt on upper cover. From the library of Kim Merker. With the original hand-written invoice from Trissel to Merker laid in, containing a short note to Merker. Also laid in, as issued, is the original 1-page typed summary of the book by Trissel noting that "the central issue of the book is press work and in particular letterpress work ... I hope the book does not ... take itself too seriously ... The text is meant to be helpful to printers who would like to expand the use of letterpress into the realms of all over color, transparency and opacity, polymer plate technology for halftones and calligraphy and color mixing that forms a complete spectrum from a minimal palette."
