Hardback, 1956, third reprint (first published 1932, reprinted 1932, 1934), published by William Heinemann Ltd, London, xxxiv + 889 pages.
Measures around 8 3/4" by 6" by 2". Dust jacket is very worn and marked with some tattering at edged and tape repairs to tears on underside of jacket. Brown cloth binding, gilt lettering and crest to front board and spine. A little marking and some scuffing to binding but quite clean and colouring still vivid. Crease to cloth on upper end of spine near front hinge. Bumped corners. Signs of wear, some rubbing at edges and a little on hinges. Slackness to binding but book contents reasonably firm. Page edges browned and foxed, otherwise a little marked and scuffed. Previous owner inscription to recto of front free endpaper and quotation written on verso of second free endpaper. Some pages contain underlining, margin lining and the odd bit of other marginalia. See pictures for further information.
