DJ/None. Tissue covered frontispiece: portrait of Franklin K. Lane (1864 - 1921). Anne Wintermute Lane, wife of Franklin Lane and editor of these letters remarks, "His letters are peculiarly autobiographical", as they indeed are; a biography through letters and correspondence. Canadian-born journalist and lawyer Franklin Lane (1864 - 1921) served as Interstate Commerce Commissioner to both Presidents Roosevelt and Taft, and Secretary of the Interior (1913 - 1920) under President Wilson among many other posts. We are fortunate that Lane's prose so lucid and expressive. Text illustrated by black and white photographs.
