London: Macmillan , 1979. First Edition, First Impression First Printing. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Both volumes of the two part set. First edition, first impression. Hardcovers in unclipped dust jackets. Blue cloth gilt. Decorated endpapers. Illustrated with b/w photos. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Both jackets have sunning, wear, and chips to corners and spine tips. Vol. II in a little worse condition than Vol. I with sunning to both panels, tears and a small loss to spine head, a couple of holes to joint between back panel and flap, and a few more marks. Both bindings are clean and bright with light edge wear and a few bumped corners. Vol. II gilt is a little dulled. Both vols are firmly bound with hinges intact. There is spotting and dust-soiling to top page edges, minor marking to bottoms. Contents clean without bookplates, inscriptions, foxing or other marking. Heavy/oversize set. U.K. postage at default charge but overseas buyers may be asked for a little extra. Enquiries welcome. All orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured.
