Oxford at the Clarendon Press 1890 Hardback Quarto, Gilt-stamped vellum spine and corners & gilt-stamped blue-gray cloth, top page edges gilt, uncut, xci, 320 pp. 7 Plates and a fascimile tipped in letter. Plates are protected with tissue guards 2 of which are creased. Covers are stained and marked with browning and grubby marks on vellum. Number 17 of 25 presentation copies from a limited edition of 525 copies. Grubby end papers. Includes a separate Appendix with additional letters consisting of 85 pages plus a genealogical table. Pages in the Appendix are creased with wear and small nicks at edges of cover. Includes a memoir of the life and times of Philip Dormer, fourth Earl of Chesterfield, together with a collection of letters offering a wealth of useful advice to his godson and successor. Firmly bound. This is a heavy item and there may be additional postage costs for international orders. Wt 2.2 Kg Good
