About This Item
New York, NY: Houghton Brace Jovanovich, 1976. First American Edition, 2nd Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Text/BRAND NEW & Bright. Bi-color boards/NF. DJ/None. Gift inscription to fEP. Volume 2 of 2, covering letters written 1912 - 1922 from Virginia Stephen Woolf (1988 - 1912). First published under the title "The Question of Things Happening", 1976; this is the America Edition of the same year. This Volume 2 covers letters written during the first decade of her marriage through publication of "The Voyage Out", "Night and Day", and "Jacob's Room"; the founding of the Hogarth Press; and the years of World War I. In 1913, Woolf attempted to take her life, but, thwarted, emerged strong. 627 pgs. Included is what was written to Janet Case on Nov 19, 1919 (letter #1095, pg 400), "There's the whole question, which interests me ... of the things one doesn't say ... I mean, what is the reality of any feeling?" An introspective mind indeed.
