William Heinemann, London, 1933. 1st edition; printed in red and black. Full leather binding, gilt lines. Fine /No Jacket. Fine (lacks d.j.) in 1930s art binding of green (?pigskin) leather, linear gold tooling, 'J.G.' monogram on front, undecorated raised bands, spine somewhat sunned, sll. foxing on outer edge of pages not affecting text. Includes charming 'art deco' illustrations by Rudolf H. Sauter (who also illustrated Galsworth's "The awakening").
