Dark cloth with spine and upper board lettering gilt, octavo, pp. 354 plus publisher colophon. Top edge gilt. Previous owner gift inscription on free front endpaper. Previous owner has also affixed a small photo of a "Professor Palmer" to an early blank page. Ten leaves of illustrations, some tissue-guarded. Illustrations without tissue guards have tanned in the margins but not on the illustrations themselves. Laid in is an old newspaper clipping about a memorial to Mrs. Palmer in the Wellesley college chapel. Board tips and spine ends are rubbed and foot of spine has a couple of nicks. The odd shelf scuff on the boards, as well. Withal, GOOD and sound.
