About This Item

Privately Printed, 2001. Hardcover First Edition (2001), unstated. Very Near Fine in Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. Book shows a tiny, eighth-inch dink at the head of the backstrip; the backstrip shows barely discernible lean, while remaining perfectly secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome very nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a couple of minor, unobtrusive cosmetic imperfections. Bright and Clean. Corners sharp. Very close to 'As New'. The DJ is flawless; unclipped; mylar-protected. Virtually 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Oblong 8vo. (8.75 x 11.35 x 0.7 inches). 128 pages. Profusely illustrated with plates in Color. Language: English. Weight: 30 ounces. First Edition (2001), unstated. Hardback with DJ. Paul Strisik, NA, AWS (1918 - 1998) was a prominent US plein air painter. He was born in Brooklyn NY, but lived most of his life in Rockport, MA. He worked in both oil and watercolor. His art education began at the Art Students League of New York with Frank DuMond. Paul was a member of many American art organizations, including the Rockport Art Association, the North Shore Arts Association, and many others. He was an Academician in the National Academy of Design. His paintings are in many museums, corporations and other prominent private collections. Paul is the author of several books on painting, including The Art of Landscape Painting, and Capturing Light in Oils, published in 1995. Paul Strisik is building an impressive auction record; his paintings are highly prized and are relatively hard to find. Though primarily known as a 'Rockport' artist, Strisik produced a significant body of work based on the Southwest. He maintained a winter home in Santa Fe from 1976 to his death. I own several books on the art of Paul Strisik and this is by far the best reproduction of his paintings. If you admire his work, The Life and art of Paul Strisik is highly recommended.
