New York: Harper & Brothers, 1881. These are Very Good copies of the First American Edition. Not common. Original publisher's green cloth binding with gilt titling on the spine. Clean texts; 347 pages, with Appendices; and 346 pages, with Appendix, Index, and six pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Contemporary (1889) previous-owner signature of the front endpaper. The rear free endpaper of Volume Two has a tear. Mild bumping to the corners, rubbing to the margins. Solid copies of . First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
