Blue cloth covers with gilt title and portrait vignette to front cover, gilt titles and silver vignettes 'Tthe Fram' and ice to spine. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece, 14 full page b/w plates plus numerous photographs and other illustrations in text. A wonderfully illustrated biography of the renowned Norwegian explorer (1861-1930) and his polar expedition in an attractive binding. Presentation bookplate verso front cover, some minor foxing.
