N.p.: The Pioneer Press, 1889. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Brown cloth with gilt spine lettering and ornate and elaborate spine and front board black decorative stamping. xv, 463pp. Pink floral endpapers. Very good. Faint binding edgewear, else tight and internally bright and fine. A handsome later printing ("From the Fourth English Edition") of this popular 1857 biography of the "Father of Railways" (1781-1848), the renowned British mechanical and civil engineer. A superb copy from this publisher's "Self-Help Series.
