New Delhi: Amerind Publishing Co., 1984 First English edition, translated from Russian original edition of 1989 by P.M. Rao. No ISBN apparent. HB. Dark blue cloth, light blue titles, and dustjacket with pictorial vignette of birds to front. 385pp. With 44 illustrations in text, including b&w photos, maps and line drawings, as well as many tables. Mainly concerned with adaptations to extreme conditions and ecology of birds in arctic and sub-arctic Siberia / Russia. This copy belonged to the ecologist and ornithologist Bryan Sage: his bookplate inside front cover. Very Good in Very Good jacket. Light browning to lower cover edges, brown spotting and light rubbing to jacket edges and back margin.
