London, Edward Bull, 1831 3rd. Two volumes, hardback 9 x 5.5 inches. Quarter bound calf leather and patterned blue cloth to boards. Full floral gilt decorations to spines, gilt lettering to leather spine labels, numbered labels with inset blue details. Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good condition. Extremities rubbed, corners bumped and nicked. Fading to board edges and front of vol.1. Bookplates to endpapers “William Carr.” Frontis portrait tanned/darkened, faint water staining to edges, offsetting and foxing to main title page opposite. Mild foxing spots and handling marks to pages, repair to tear on corner of facsimile letter. Else tight copies. 368 & 364pp. Illustrated with a B&W engraved frontis portrait in vol.1. and a fold-out facsimile letter in vol.2.
