About This Item
Hardcover first edition, published by Appleton-Century-Crofts, 1949. A collection of cartoons and short humorous stories about dogs. Almost all of the cartoons are single panel, with one being a strip from Webster's 'The Timid Soul'. 151 pages, 6-1/4" X 9-1/2". Tan cloth covered cover boards, with illustrated cover and the title imprinted on the cover and spine in dark brown. No dust jacket. Cover boards have smudges from use, some stain spots on the lower right front, and stain spots on the back cover as well. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges of the text block are relatively clean. Pages 17 and 19 have a 2 inch tear a the bottom edge. Some spots of age tanning to the text pages, which would be common to this book considering the type of paper used. Not a library discard. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
