Original blue cloth covers with gilt titles to spine and front cover, Shackleton crest in gilt on front cover. The story of a truly remarkable man.".The 1st biography of Shackleton, the famous Antarctic explorer. Mill was a friend and associate of Shackleton. He had a great deal of input and cooperation from Shackleton's wife, mother and sisters during the writing of his book which was published quite soon after Shackleton's death and includes chapters on all of his major journeys. Ex libris with bookplate on verso front cover, (no evidence of being loaned). Shelfware, cover corners edges softening, bumped. Some minor wrinkling, staining to page edges, mainly to plate pages.
