Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott, 1865. Hardcover. Fair with no dust jacket. Exlibrary markings primarily on spines, endpapers, and title page in each volume. Volume 1 has cracked front hinge and rear hinge starting, with shaken binding. Volumes 2 and 3 have sound binding and hinges. Pages tanned, clean except for exlibrary marks as noted. Embossed cloth over boards is edgeworn in all three volumes with bumped corners. Overall shelf wear to exterior of each. Spine of each volume has been reinforced with cloth. Two engraved plates as frontispiece in volume 1; one engraved plate as frontispiece in volume 2. Volume 1 has several plates of documents in Jefferson's handwriting. ; Detailed account of Jefferson's life from birth to death, with a chapter following his death dealing with his estate and other matters. ; Ex-Library; 9.0" tall; 2070 pages.
